Keep Your RV Water Heater Ready For Routine Maintenance
Routine water heater maintenance starts with the right replacement parts.
This two-pack anode rod kit includes two 9¼-inch magnesium alloy rods designed for compatible Suburban RV water heaters. Each rod acts as a sacrificial component inside the tank, helping manage corrosion as part of regular water heater maintenance.
With a dual-ended removal wrench and two rolls of PTFE thread-sealing tape included, the kit brings together essential components for your next anode rod replacement.
Compatibility & Fitment: Check Your Water Heater Before Ordering
This kit is designed for compatible Suburban RV water heaters that use a 9¼-inch anode rod with a ¾-inch NPT threaded connection.
Before ordering, check your water heater's manufacturer, model, required anode rod length, and thread specification.
Fitment details:
- Rod length: 9¼ inches (23.5 cm)
- Thread size: ¾-inch NPT
- Intended for compatible Suburban RV water heater models
- Mor-Flo compatibility is claimed by the supplier, but must be confirmed against the specific heater model
Not suitable for: Atwood and Dometic water heaters identified as incompatible by the supplier, or heaters requiring different rod dimensions or connections.
If your water heater's requirements are uncertain, consult its manufacturer's documentation before purchasing.
Magnesium Alloy Rods For Routine Tank Maintenance
The magnesium alloy anode rods are designed to serve as sacrificial components inside compatible RV water heater tanks.
During normal water heater operation, the anode rod is intended to corrode gradually in place of more vulnerable tank surfaces. Because anode rods are consumable maintenance components, they should be inspected and replaced as recommended by the water heater manufacturer.
With two rods included, this kit provides a replacement for current maintenance and an additional rod to keep available for a future service.
Replacement Accessories Included In One Kit
Keep the essential components together for your next anode rod replacement.
The kit includes two magnesium alloy anode rods, a dual-ended metal removal wrench, and two rolls of PTFE sealing tape for threaded connections.
The wrench features two hexagonal ends, with a 1-1/16-inch end intended for the anode rod's hex-head fitting. Cross-holes in the wrench body allow for additional leverage using an appropriately sized tool.
No separate flushing wand is included.
Straightforward Maintenance With Proper Preparation
Anode rod replacement is a routine maintenance procedure, but it requires proper preparation.
Before beginning, switch off the water heater and its energy supply, allow the water to cool, and follow the manufacturer's instructions to release tank pressure.
The existing anode rod can then be removed using a suitable wrench. Inspect the replacement rod, confirm the correct fit, and follow the heater manufacturer's instructions for applying thread sealant and installing the new rod.
Use the included components only where appropriate for your heater's specified maintenance procedure.
Important: Do not attempt removal while the tank is hot or pressurized. Refer to the water heater owner's manual for complete maintenance and installation instructions.
Two Replacement Rods For Ongoing RV Maintenance
Anode rods are wear components that may need replacement during the service life of an RV water heater.
This two-pack gives you an additional rod to store with your RV maintenance supplies for future use.
Keep the spare in a clean, dry location and inspect the installed rod according to your water heater manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
